Passionate About Inspiring Others

As a figure skating coach, hockey power & edge coach, and personal/group trainer, Mallory has over ten years of experience leading others to success. In addition to her coaching, she has vast experience as a program director and coordinator.

Originally from Devils Lake, ND, she now resides in Williston, ND where she leads Öka Skating Academy, an academy for figure skating and hockey athletes. Prior to the academy, she resided in Grand Forks, ND where she held leadership roles and coached for the figure skating program in East Grand Forks, MN. She has great knowledge and coaching skill in Learn to Skate group lessons (figure skating & hockey), private & group lessons (advanced Freestyle, Moves-in-the-Field, Dance, Solo Freedance), synchronized skating team development, choreography for individuals and teams, dance partner services and power & edge (figure skating and hockey).

Mallory has worked with students at all levels, taking numerous athletes through their Gold Tests (one of the highest honors in U.S. Figure Skating for athletes). In addition to her own experience she draws from the many training seminars she attends, including the National Coaches College and U.S. Synchronized Skating Summit where she learns from Team USA coaches and U.S. Figure Skating head staff.

Mallory is extremely passionate about educating others on and off the ice. She believes in pushing past your limit and challenging yourself. She also believes in breaking barriers. A testament to this is Team North Dakota, the collegiate synchronized skating team she started in 2013 (non-profit organization). At the time, there was no opportunity for figure skaters to continue their skating careers with a team after high school. Team North Dakota was born under her direction and went from a non competitive team, to two-time Midwestern Synchronized Skating Sectional Medalists (open-collegiate), to two-time National Synchronized Skating competitors (collegiate).

Mallory works with athletes at all ages (she has worked with athletes 5 years old through collegiate). She especially loves working with teams and enhancing skills as a group: synchronized skating and hockey power & edge. She provides hockey power camps and has worked with teams via camps and contracted regular sessions.

In addition to her on ice training, she works with athletes off the ice through personal and team training. Mallory is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer and uses her knowledge of on ice sports combined with her knowledge of off ice training to create programs to enhance the athletic abilities of ice athletes.
